New York-based Ovation Travel Group (No. 16 on Travel Weekly’s 2019 Power List) https://www.travelweekly.com/Power-List-2019 is pushing to expand in the western part of the country and is actively recruiting West Coast travel advisors to sign on with the agency as independent contractors.

Ovation CEO Paul Metselaar said that Ovation has long had a presence on the West Coast with independent contractors. The company now will formalize its presence there.

“In turn, we have great expectations that our new Los Angeles-area focus will ultimately rival our thriving options in New York and London,” he said.

Ovation is looking for West Coast advisors with expertise in luxury leisure, entertainment and/or corporate travel.

To oversee the West Coast expansion and recruit agents, Ovation has hired Aanchal Gandhi for a new position, vice president of leisure and independent advisors on the West Coast.

Gandhi is based in Beverly Hills, Calif., and reports to Gina Gabbard, senior vice president of leisure and independent advisors.

Gandhi most recently spent 11 years as a Protravel International advisor. Before that, she worked in equity sales for Goldman Sachs.

“Given Ovation Travel Group’s large existing book of luxury leisure and corporate business in New York and London, along with an enviable amount already in L.A., we believe it is critical for us to have a heightened physical presence in California,” Gabbard said in a statement.
