Two companies offerings trips to space are merging.
Space Adventures, a private company founded by Omega World
Travel of Fairfax, Va., and Quark Expeditions of Darien, Conn.,
have acquired Space Voyages' division of Zegrahm Expeditions of
Seattle.
Zegrahm's Space Voyages division had a contract with Vela
Technology Development of Vienna, Va., which is creating a craft,
called Space Cruiser, to offer suborbital flights to the public in
five years.
With the acquisition of the division, that contract was
transferred to Space Adventures.
Also transferred are 100 bookings by people who have paid
$98,000 each to take the trip on the Space Cruiser.
