NEW YORK -- Travel Leaders Group is adding a new package component to its Select Hotels & Resorts program with help from its network of destination management companies (DMCs).

Travel Leaders Network president Roger Block discussed the new program at a Travel Leaders Network media update Wednesday at the W Times Square. Like the Select Hotels & Resorts program, the new packages will be available to all of Travel Leaders Group's brands and agents, not just the network.

Block said Travel Leaders Group is working with its network of DMCs to create packages around the 1,200 hotels in its Select Hotels & Resorts program. The pre-packaged programs include activities to do in each destination and are fully customizable.

The programs, Block said, will likely be of most interest to business travelers looking to add a day or two of leisure.

Travel Leaders Group chief marketing officer Stephen McGillivray said advisors who fall under the company's umbrella have reported wanting to see activities information when they search for a hotel. Creating packages around the Select Hotels & Resorts program will enable them to do just that.

The announcement comes at the beginning of what Travel Leaders Network executives believe will be a productive year. In 2019, the network is ahead year over year "across the board," Block said. That includes sun-and-fun vacations, deep water and river cruising, and escorted tours.
