FORT LAUDERDALE — Jeff Scott is the CEO and president of Sixth Scott LLC, the company that acquired YTB Travel Network from YTB International.

The company will operate as First Travel Alliance, and once the transaction is complete, YTB Travel Network will cease to exist.

Scott said Wednesday that he has been in the travel industry since 1977. From 2006 to 2010, he was president and COO of Hickory Travel Systems, a provider of services to corporate travel agencies.

From 2001 to 2006, Scott was general manager of Thor, a provider of travel agency services, when Thor was owned by Cendant.

He served in many positions at Worldspan, including director of customer operations, from 1990 to 2001.

During the last two years, Scott has been a travel industry consultant.

“Being a consultant in the industry, I’ve watched as YTB developed over the years and I’ve always been impressed by how they’ve taken all this controversy and changed things and made it effective,” Scott said. “Once you meet the founders and the people running this business, they are very impressive. We thought there was a huge opportunity with the numbers and a distribution channel like no other out there.”

Scott said that Richard Nord and Ryan Nord are also partners in Sixth Scott. Scott said Richard Nord has been in the travel industry for many years.

When asked whether Scott intends to pursue a reinstatement with the brands of Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd., which stopped doing business with YTB in 2007, he said he could not speak for RCCL, but that “we want to do business with all vendors and we have all intentions of doing that. Obviously Royal Caribbean is one of those vendors.”
