American Express Global Business Travel (No. 3 on Travel Weekly's Power List) on Tuesday announced the latest evolution of Egencia, the corporate travel brand it acquired from Expedia Group in 2021, that encompasses agentic AI solutions for users.

The latest iteration of Egencia features Egencia AI, a conversational travel assistant that is built on AI. It can help users ask about, book and manage travel via a single conversation. It's also able to integrate with commonly used business tools like Microsoft Teams, Amex GBT said.

Egencia supports 7,200-plus companies with more than 95% of its bookings happening via digital channels, according to Amex GBT.

"Egencia has always been a bold innovator in business travel, setting the bar for digital self-service and offering a natively online experience before it was the industry standard," Amex GBT's chief product and strategy officer, Evan Konwiser, said in a release. "We're accelerating that momentum by reimagining what an intelligent travel platform can be with a new user experience, integrated travel, and expense and conversational AI capabilities."

Egencia now also features an integration with Concur Expense, enabling a more streamlined experience for users by importing travel bookings and receipts into the expense environment "in near real-time," Amex GBT said.

Egencia's overall user experience has also been upgraded. Its latest iteration, Amex GBT said, is more intuitive.

In addition to improving the experience for Egencia's customers, Konwiser said learnings from this latest iteration of the brand will, in turn, benefit Amex GBT's other travel management and expense solutions, like Complete and Neo.
