SafelyStay wins grand prize at PhoCusWright event

FORT LAUDERDALE — SafelyStay won the $250,000 General Catalyst Award for Travel Innovation at PhoCusWright’s Travel Innovation Summit, held earlier this week.

SafelyStay powers vacation rental reservations for online travel agencies, vacation rental marketplaces and property managers.

Mygola Inc., which collects travel itineraries from sources ranging from the New York Times to Frommer’s and makes them customizable, won the Brand USA Award for Travel Marketing Innovation.

Peek Inc., a distribution company targeting activities operators, won the 2013 Travel Innovation Summit People’s Choice Award.

VerbalizeIt, a full-service language-translation platform, won Most Innovative Startup Company. Groupize, a hotel-booking engine for groups, won the Most Innovative Emerging Company.

Sociomantic Labs won two awards: Most Innovative Established Company and Most Innovative Business to Business Company. It leverages revenue management, loyalty and CRM (customer relationship management) data to drive marketing and incremental sales.

MakeMyTrip.com, India’s largest online travel agency, which is taking a “mobile first” trip-planning approach, won Most Innovative Business to Consumer Company.

A panel of judges comprised of travel and technology experts chose the winners.

Each year, PhoCusWright selects 30 innovative companies to demonstrate their applications and solutions at the start of the PhoCusWright Conference.
