EXPEDIA AND US AIRWAYS ended their
disagreement--the airline's inventory again is available through
Expedia.com and Expedia Corporate Travel. US Airways pulled its
inventory from Expedia earlier this month, after the online agency
increased its consumer booking fee for US Airways tickets from $5
to $8.99. Apparently, Expedia was playing hardball in negotiations
because the airline wouldn't sign a new contract that increased
Expedia's commissions. With the agreement, the terms of which were
not disclosed, the fee for US Airways tickets reverted to $5.
PRICELINE.COM will reunite Star Trek actors
Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner in a TV commercial tentatively
scheduled to begin the week of Jan. 19, according to the New York
Times. Shatner, who played Captain Kirk on Star Trek, has been
Priceline's pitchman since the late 1990s. Priceline isn't
revealing any details about the commercial. Perhaps Nimoy, who
played the brainy, emotionless Mr. Spock in the 1960s sci-fi
series, will say that that it is "highly illogical" to book
anywhere except Priceline.
