Travelport said it has sped up commission payment for Rooms and More and has made the hotel booking engine more user-friendly.
Travelport is using Quickpay, its a fast-payment system, to speed up commission payments for agents.
Quickpay is now a standard feature of Rooms & More until further notice. Travelport will pay the indicated amount in advance of supplier payments, which can be slow to arrive.
Agents have to pay back Travelport only if the supplier fails to pay Travelport. This should cut commission payment time by 60 to 90 days, Travelport said.
Also, travel agents can make bookings with fewer keystrokes, Travelport said. They’ll see richer content with improved presentation of images, graphical representations of amenities, ratings, full descriptions and maps.
The upgraded version holds more than 450,000 hotels, all bookable through one portal.
Travelport launched Rooms and More nearly two years ago. Travelport said that it made the improvements based on customer feedback.
