The Wall Street Journal has launched an online travel booking service for business travelers powered by Upside Travel.

The Wall Street Journal Business Travel Service enables travelers to book individual flights and hotels. They can also create packages combining hotels, flights and ground transportation.

Upside Travel was founded by Priceline founder Jay Walker in January. It enables employees of small- and medium-sized businesses to save on business travel and earn gift cards when they make money-saving travel choices.

The WSJ's service does not charge fees. Users have access to customer support via phone, chat and email 24 hours a day; airline ticketing from all U.S. cities to domestic and international destinations; hotel and ground transportation options; gift cards when travelers choose packages that save employers money; a free day pass to an airport lounge when they buy from the service; and frequent flyer credit.

Suzi Watford, the Journal's chief marketing officer, said many of the newspaper's readers are frequent business travelers who book their own trips.

"Based on their feedback, we also know that many find the experience time-consuming and frustrating," she said. "With the Wall Street Journal Business Travel Service, we are very pleased to offer a service that eases the stress, giving our members more time to get on with business."
