The Pacific Northwest is becoming increasingly well known for its wines, and Un-Cruise Adventures is hoping to introduce more passengers to the region’s unique varietals with additional wine-themed cruises.

Un-Cruise increased the number of Columbia and Snake River wine cruises on the 88-passenger S.S. Legacy to seven in 2016.

During the cruises, called “Ameritage! Four Rivers of Wine & History,” passengers will hear from wine experts on board about local wines, and be able to experience tastings and tours at various Oregon and Washington wineries.

Un-Cruise Adventures has upped its wine-themed sailings in the Pacific Northwest.

The company had “great success” with its wine cruises in 2015, according to Dan Blanchard, CEO of Un-Cruise Adventures, and consequently added three more wine-themed departures this year.

The cruises sail along the Willamette, Columbia, Snake and Palouse rivers and also include visits to the Hanford Reach Interpretive Center, Multnomah Falls, Maryhill Museum, Palouse Falls State Park and Cannon Beach. Rates for “Ameritage” cruises begin at $3,695 per person, based on double occupancy.

Un-Cruise has also added a new wine element to its more traditional Columbia River itinerary, “A Legacy of Discovery,” which this year includes a stop in Richland, Wash., and a tour of the Terra Blanca Winery & Estate Vineyard.

The S.S. Legacy sails round-trip from Portland, Ore., between April and November. The vessel is a replica coastal steamer and features the main Klondike Dining Room, a Grand Salon with dance floor, a wine bar and the Pesky Barnacle Saloon. An elevator connects three of the four decks. There are also two hot tubs, a massage room and fitness equipment available for passengers to use onboard.
