POPULAR ON OUR WEBSITE

Our annual look at the biggest trends and topics of the year wouldn’t be complete without a look at the oracle of everything: Website analytics.
A look at the year’s most popular articles on Travel Weekly.com showed that readers were most interested in Covid-related travel restrictions and protocols.
The most popular article on our site in 2021 was “The latest Caribbean travel restrictions and requirements for U.S. travelers,” which was first published in 2020 when Caribbean islands were cautiously reopening to tourism. Since then, island closures and reopenings and new protocols for vaccinated vs. unvaccinated travelers have kept reader interest high.
Other top articles related to Covid rules included “Where can Americans travel in Europe?” which was No. 3, behind “The latest cruise line restart dates.” Also popular was an article that explained which Caribbean and Mexico resorts were offering Covid testing, after the policy was put in place earlier this year requiring travelers to test in order to enter the U.S.
Hawaii and Las Vegas also proved to be popular subjects among readers. Hawaii was on our top-read list, no doubt because of changing Covid rules.
But not every article that grabbed our readers’ interests was about Covid. A Las Vegas Insight article titled “Las Vegas says goodbye to two of its greatest showmen,” about the lives and legacies of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and illusionist Siegfried Fischbacher was the sixth most popular story on TravelWeekly.com this year.
