Emirates Airline began Dubai-Los Angeles service on Sunday.
The service operates three days per week, but Emirates wants to go to daily service when it gets additional aircraft.
Emirates flies Boeing 777-200LRs on the route. The jets have 266 seats in a three-class configuration.
The flight from Dubai takes 16 hours and 45 minutes; the shorter flight from Los Angeles takes just under 16 hours, Emirates said.
