Gazebo by the SeaFrenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Beach Resort in St. Thomas opened its new wedding venue, part of the resort’s recently completed $48 million renovation project.

The Gazebo by the Sea is set in gardens on a bluff overlooking the Caribbean. The wedding location is offered as one of several by the team of wedding planners and coordinators at the 302-room resort.

Frenchman’s has helped more than 5,000 couples over four decades to tie the knot, including more than 500 in 2011, according to Jessica Klein, wedding coordinator.

Marriage license requirements in the U.S. Virgin Islands call for a completed application form and $100 certified check, submitted eight days prior to arrival in the islands.

Couples pick up the license in person upon arrival and sign papers after the ceremony.

Frenchman’s wedding planners coordinate all requirements and applications for couples getting married at the resort.
