Celebrity Xpedition cancels second Galapagos cruise

By Tom Stieghorst
Celebrity Xpedition has cancelled its scheduled June 9 cruise in the Galapagos because its license to operate in Galapagos National Park remains suspended.

Authorities barred Celebrity Xpedition from the park for 45 days after finding frozen lobster tails onboard out of season.

Guests will get a refund, a 25% future cruise credit and compensation for air arrangements.

Earlier, a judge had temporarily stayed the order banning Celebrity Xpedition from the park, but he reversed his position and has since been replaced by a different magistrate, according to notices posted on the Galapagos National Park website.
