Crystal offers open-seating dining option

By Jerry Limone

Crystal Cruises will allow open seating in the main dining room for dinner, starting with its January 2011 sailings.

Effective immediately, customers can choose open seating when they book a cruise.

Open seating will be available every night of the cruise, enabling diners to make a reservation from 6:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., subject to availability.

An online Priority Check-in & Planning Center at Crystal’s website is expected to launch July 1, enabling fully paid guests who have chosen open seating to make reservations for the main dining room and the specialty restaurants.

While onboard the ship, guests will be able to make reservations for the main dining room through the maitre d' or telephone operator.

Customers who have already booked their 2011 cruise and want to switch from traditional seating to open seating should contact their travel agents to make a change, Crystal said. Travel agents should then contact Crystal's reservations center to change the dining option.

While onboard, guests may see the maitre d’ to switch from classic dining to open seating.

To prepare for the launch of open seating, Crystal said it has ordered more tables for two and four.
