Norwegian Cruise Line said the Norwegian Getaway, scheduled for delivery in early 2014, will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises.
The 4,000-passenger ship will be delivered early. Its debut had been slated for May 2014, but German shipyard Meyer Werft is ahead of schedule, and the 143,500-ton ship is now expected to arrive in January and sail beginning February 2014.
Norwegian had previously said the ship would be based in Miami. It will be the line's first year-round ship in Miami since the retirement of the Norway.
When it arrives, the Norwegian Epic will switch to Sunday departures and do a seven-day Western Caribbean itinerary.
The Norwegian Pearl will be chartered from Jan. 19 to March 21, 2014, Norwegian said.
