Season canceled for grounded Canadian ship

By Michelle Baran

The remainder of the 2010 Clipper Adventurer season has been canceled after the ship ran aground off Canada's Arctic Coast last week.

The Clipper Adventurer grounded on an uncharted rock on Aug. 27, according to Mississauga-based Adventure Canada, the ship's owner. The ship was en route from Port Epworth to Kugluktuk.

Canadian authorities were notified and a Canadian Coast Guard vessel helped disembark the passengers on Sunday. There were 128 passengers and 69 crew members onboard. No injuries were reported all guests have since been transferred home.
