Vacation.com partner charters NCL ship for Winter Games

By Nadine Godwin

Vacation.com's newest preferred supplier, Newwest Special Projects, has chartered the Norwegian Star to provide accommodations for travelers attending the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010.

The Norwegian Star will be docked on the North Shore, directly across from Stanley Park, for the duration of the 2010 Winter Games.

Newwest will offer three- and four-night packages between Feb. 10 and March 2, and it expects to fill the ship’s 1,119 staterooms with 9,000 guests during the games. Package prices include free transport 24/7 to and from the Sea Bus Terminal to reach the sporting venues.

The packages also include dining, nightly entertainment, a captain’s cocktail reception, live satellite coverage of the Olympic Games, airport transfers and a city tour.

Clients could also use the ship as transport from Los Angeles or to Los Angeles at the start or end of the Winter Games.

Newwest is a special-events travel company based in Edmonton, Alberta.

"Newwest gives our members a truly unique experience with value-added amenities to exceed their clients' expectations while earning bonus commissions," said Vacation.com CEO Steve Tracas.
