NEW YORK -- The luxury sailing yacht Lili Marleen of Peter Deilmann
Ocean Cruises will be cruising in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea
with its first sailing from Dubai on Oct. 22.
A re-created 19th century tall ship, the 50-passenger Lili
Marleen will operate on two different one-week itineraries. The
seven-night cruise prices begin at $2,340 per person, double.
From Dubai, the ship's home port in the United Arab Emirates,
the yacht goes to Al Fujayrah, set in a mountain landscape with one
of the oldest mosques in the region, and to the modern city of Abu
Dhabi.
Other destinations include Sharjah, noted for the King Faisal
mosque, the Blue Souk and the Museum of the History of the
Emirates, and Masqat, the capital of Oman with its Sultan's Palace,
old city walls and colorful bazaars.
While offering adventurous travelers a true sailing vessel, the
Lili Marleen is spacious and air-conditioned throughout.
The restaurant accommodates all passengers at one seating, and
on board are three bars -- two on the main deck, indoors and out,
and Lili's Bar, with a small library.
Cabins are all outside and have carpeting and tiled bathrooms.
The vessel carries both a doctor and an entertainer on board.
