Grupo Vidanta has opened the Grand Bliss in Nuevo Vallarta, the latest in a collection of six high-end resorts in the firm's portfolio.

The 168-suite Grand Bliss features plunge pools on suite terraces; a wave pool and lazy river; a kids' club; a full-service spa and fitness center; an 18-hole golf course; and one mile of beachfront access along Banderas Bay.

Some suites sleep up to eight people to accommodate families and couples traveling with friends.

Guests have access to six restaurants within the Nuevo Vallarta complex, which contains several resorts and manmade lakes spread across the 25-acre site.

Stone textures, wood beams, detailed furniture designs and a palette of natural colors have been used throughout the resort.

"Our goal was to create a destination different from the other choices travelers have," said Eric DuBaele, general manager. "We're combining luxury travel within a natural, indigenous setting."
