Riu has a total of 16 hotels totaling 8,635 guestrooms in Mexico, accounting for approximately 50% of the chain’s worldwide properties in16 countries.
“We hope the new Riu Palace Peninsula will give a new push to this destination, which recently turned 40 years old,” said CEO Luis Riu. “For us, this is another example of the importance that Mexico has in our development plans and the high quality we seek to offer here.”
The 562-room Riu Palace Peninsula, located next to the Riu Caribe, will feature six specialty restaurants and a main restaurant, seven bars, watersports, two freshwater pools — one heated in the winter and the second with a Jacuzzi and swimup bar — daily entertainment and a Renova spa.
