A biometric identity verification system using fingerprints and irises to expedite airport security will launch at Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport this summer.
CLEAR, the technology provider, uses biometrics (fingerprint or iris) to verify a traveler’s identity, allowing them faster security screening at major U.S. airport across the country. All airports where CLEAR services are used are closely integrated with TSA’s pre-check program, and members generally get through airport checkpoints in less than five minutes.
McCarran, the tenth airport to offer CLEAR services, will have enrollment kiosks at three of its checkpoints by mid-August. CLEAR membership is $179 per year for unlimited use. Family member and other discounted rates are available.
