Kingfisher Airlines suspended its entry into the Oneworld alliance, previously set for Feb. 10, "to resolve the financial issues it is confronting," according to Oneworld CEO Bruce Ashby.
Oneworld and Kingfisher did not announce a new target date for the carrier's full membership.
"In light of the many priorities centered around Kingfisher Airlines' recapitalization efforts, we felt it prudent to defer our entry into the alliance for a little while," according to a statement from Kingfisher Chairman Vijay Mallya. "This will allow us the opportunity to focus on the issues at hand, and we look forward to being part of the Oneworld alliance very shortly."
