Southwest re-ups with Sabre for res system

By Jerry Limone
Southwest Airlines has renewed its reservations system agreement with Sabre Airline Solutions.

The multi-year contract extends a long-term relationship between Southwest and Sabre for passenger and operations solutions across Southwest’s domestic network.

Hugh Jones, president of Sabre Airline Solutions, said Sabre “has the expertise and technology to provide Southwest the flexibility needed” to support the AirTran integration. Southwest acquired AirTran last May.

"It's important to us that our customers have a seamless shopping, booking and travel experience during our acquisition of AirTran,” said Bob Young, chief technology officer for Southwest.
