Sun Country to launch seasonal London service

By Jerry Limone

Sun Country Airlines will operate its first scheduled transatlantic flights this summer.

The airline will fly a weekly roundtrip between Minneapolis/St. Paul and London Stansted from June 11 through Aug. 15.

The flight will depart the Twin Cities on Fridays and return from London Stansted on Sundays, making one stop each way at Gander Airport in Newfoundland.

Sun Country will offer 12 seats in first class and 150 in coach on Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Flights and packages are on sale now.

Sun Country flew transatlantic charters in the mid-1990s, but this will be the airline's first scheduled transatlantic service.
