United delays new service with Boeing 787 grounded

The grounding of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is delaying United Airlines from launching two international routes that won’t even use the 787.

United plans to operate a 767-300 on a San Francisco-Paris route, but the airline has postponed the launch until April 26 because the plane is not available; it is being used on one of the routes where United had been planning to use the 787.

San Francisco-Taipei service on a Boeing 777 has been postponed until June 6.

United says the airline has six fewer aircraft because the 787 has been grounded.
