United pilot suspended after London arrest

United said it suspended a pilot who was arrested at London's Heathrow Airport on Monday on suspicion of being drunk before the plane took off for Chicago.

United said it suspended the pilot, Erwin Washington, pending a full investigation. Washington is scheduled to appear in a London court on Nov. 20.

The flight was canceled, and the 124 passengers were transferred to other flights.
