Agency owner writes book on reducing biz travel expenses

Vince Vitti, chairman and founder of corporate agency Directravel in Mahwah, N.J., is the author of a new book, "Travology: Managing Travel Thru the Great Recession."

The book is a guide written for senior executives who need to reduce corporate travel expenses while maximizing business activity in the current economy.

In announcing the book, Directravel said it provides solutions and strategies in an easy-to-read format. Vitti, with more than three decades’ experience advising companies on travel spending, calls his approach to travel management "travology."

Book chapters include "Nine Steps for Managing Travel," "Setting Up Preferred Vendor Agreements," "Corporate Barter Opportunities and Exposure" and "Examining Expense Reports and Receipts."
