More than 130 Republican National Committee delegates joined the group's winter meeting held Jan. 27 to 30 at Waikiki's Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Michael Steele, the committee's chairman, was in town for the event, often refuting claims that holding the RNC's winter session at one of Waikiki's most recognized beachfront resorts might paint the proceedings in a less than serious light.
"I say shame on those who look their nose down at Hawaii and see it one-dimensionally," Steele told local ABC affiliate KITV.
