Effective March 6, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will make Global Entry an "ongoing voluntary regulatory program," concluding its nearly four-year pilot, according to a Federal Register notice issued Monday.
The international trusted-traveler program aims to "expedite clearance of pre-approved, low-risk air travelers arriving in the United States," according to the notice.
"The only significant change" since CBP first publicly proposed the rulemaking "is that minors under the age limit of 14 are now permitted to apply to the Global Entry program," according to the Federal Register notice.
