Atlanta hotel to convert to dual-branded Crowne Plaza-Staybridge

|

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will convert the Melia Atlanta into a dual-branded hotel.

The 501-room property is being renovated into a 360-room Crowne Plaza, while a 102-room Staybridge Suites is scheduled to be added by early 2016.

IHG is also planning a new Holiday Inn-Candlewood Suites in Joliet, Ill., next year, and a Hotel Indigo-Holiday Inn Express in Austin, Texas, in 2016.

The Atlanta property was Melia's first U.S. hotel. Melia had taken over the former Renaissance Atlanta Downtown in 2010.
