Convention hotel gets go-ahead in Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County has approved the development of a 400-room Hilton in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The hotel will be built adjacent to the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

The developer is Related Companies, a New York-based company that built the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in Manhattan and CityPlace, the $600 million retail and entertainment center in downtown West Palm Beach.

Palm Beach County will now begin financing discussions and contract negotiations with Related Companies, a process expected to take four to six months.
