The all-inclusive Jewel Beach Resort and Spa, the former Sandals Dunn’s River Villagio, will reopen Sept. 1 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The hotel is owned by Sagicor Life Jamaica and will be managed by Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality, which also manages the Embassy Suites San Juan Hotel & Casino and 50 properties across numerous brands in the U.S.

The Jewel is undergoing a makeover, including flat-screen TVs in every room.

General Manager Carol Burke said the property will feature six themed a la carte restaurants, five bars and lounges, a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course and 20 acres of gardens.

Guests staying in the Diamond Building can add butler and concierge services.

The Jewel also will offer a pool concierge at the two pools, dive-in movies at the pool, candlelight dining on the pier, homemade rum punches and Jamaican rock candy at nighttime turndown.

Rates through mid-December range from $319 per room, per night, double in a premier guest room to $1,019 in a one-bedroom oceanview butler suite. High-season rates start at $359 per room, per night.

All rates include meals, drinks and transfers from the airport in Montego Bay.

Sandals terminated its lease on the property on May 31, but continued to operate the 250-room resort through July to accommodate existing bookings.
