The Godfrey Hotel brand will
make its Boston debut next week, two years after the first Godfrey opened in Chicago. Both hotels were developed by Oxford Capital Group.
The 242-room Godfrey Hotel Boston was redeveloped out of the
adjoining Armory and Blake buildings in the city's Downtown Crossing
district, about a block east of Boston Common.
Cicchetti at Godfrey will serve Italian small-plate dishes and cocktails reminiscent of the fare offered at cicchetti bars
across northern Italy, particularly Venice.
Guestroom technology will enable
guests to use their mobile devices to stream content onto the guestrooms’
55-inch high-definition TVs, and the hotel will offer free WiFi.
This spring, the property will open a
street-level cafe by George
Howell Coffee, a local roaster. A 4,600-square-foot restaurant i scheduled to open this summer, but the Godfrey hasn't announced the restaurateur yet.
The 221-room Godfrey Hotel Chicago
opened in that city's River North district in February 2014.
