Iberostar Hotels & Resorts will open the Iberostar Playa Mita in December, marking the debut of the brand in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico.
The new, all-inclusive resort will be about a 45-minute drive north of Puerto Vallarta. It will feature 452 guestrooms, two pools, a spa, tennis courts, a fitness center, the 18-hole Litibu Golf Club, one buffet restaurant and four specialty restaurants, several bars, meeting space, 24-hour room service and a complimentary kids club for guests ages 4 to 12.
Evening entertainment will include live shows and an adults-only disco.
"The Riviera Nayarit is an up-and-coming tourist destination, and this development highlights our commitment to promoting and supporting tourism offerings throughout Mexico and to the development of several markets within the country," said John Long, Iberostar's vice president of sales and marketing.
Reservation books will open in May, with starting rates from $113 per person, per night, double. Packages will be offered, as well.
Iberostar has nine resorts in Mexico — in Cancun, Cozumel and the Riviera Maya.
