The International Luxury Travel Market will introduce a third conference, ILTM Americas, in Mexico this October.
ILTM hosts its main conference in Cannes, France, each December and a smaller Asia conference in Shanghai every June.
ILTM Americas, which will focus on the North America outbound market and the rapidly growing travel industry in Latin America, will take place in the Mayakoba resort area on the Riviera Maya, from Oct. 1 –3.
ILTM will include 100 top travel agents from North, Central and South America, ILTM said.
Latin American tourism spending will surge 55% over the next decade, according to travel-research group PhoCusWright. International tourist arrivals to Latin American countries in 2010 rose 10% from a year earlier, according to the United Nations’ World Tourism Organization.
“We have seen increasing demand to attend ILTM from luxury travel buyers across North and South America as well as great demand from international luxury travel suppliers to meet with these discerning agents from across the Americas,” ILTM Exhibition Director Alison Gilmore said in a statement.
ILTM attracted about 2,400 suppliers and buyers to its 10th annual Cannes conference in December. ILTM Asia will take place June 4–7 in Shanghai.
