Marriott Resorts Hawaii announces third bus tour

By Shane Nelson

Having completed a nearly four-week, 5,550-mile promotional bus trip across much of the mainland U.S. on Feb. 12, Marriott Resorts Hawaii officials announced plans to do it all again for a third time in 2011.

Working in partnership with the Hawaii Visitors and Conventions Bureau, Hawaiian Airlines and Oahu's Polynesian Cultural Center, the Marriott Hawaii promotional team launched its most recent Spirit of Aloha campaign Jan. 12, traveling from city to city onboard a 45-foot, ecofriendly bus drumming up local media attention with a cast of Hawaii performers and entertainers while pursuing both leisure and meetings travel bookings at every stop.

"We have successfully connected with these communities by being there in person to share the Hawaiian culture and our aloha spirit," said Chris Tatum, vice president of Marriott International for North Asia, Hawaii and South Pacific. "It's a high-touch and high-feel experience, and people are responding to that."
