Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport will unveil the largest capital-improvement project in its 63-year history when the $2.4 billion Terminal 3 opens June 27. Construction began five years ago.
The 1.9-million-square-foot terminal will have seven domestic and seven international gates. United, Alaska, Aeromexico, Korean Air and Virgin Atlantic will be among the nearly two dozen carriers operating at the terminal.
The new terminal will open in the middle of what Las Vegas says may be a record year in terms of visitors to the city.
Through March, Las Vegas attracted 9.76 million visitors, up 3.6% from a year earlier, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Last year, Las Vegas drew its second-most tourists on record, according to the LVCVA.
