By Laura Del Rosso

Real Resorts expanded the Royal Playa del Carmen with an additional 44 suites in the upper and deluxe categories, a new restaurant, a new coffee bar and a pool.

Of the 44 new suites, four are junior suites, 20 are oceanview junior suites, 15 are master suites with an ocean view, and five are Presidential Suites with 360-degree views of the Caribbean and Playa del Carmen. Each Presidential Suite has a roof top terrace and private plunge pool.

The new restaurant, el Mediterraneo, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a casual environment.

In other news from Real Resorts, guests who make reservations at the Gran Caribe Real Cancun or the Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen through April 30 can bring up to two children age 12 and younger who stay and eat free, even over winter holiday dates.

The children must share an adult's double occupied suite in the resort's Family Suites or higher categories.

In addition, when staying a minimum of five nights in an Ocean Front suite at the Gran Caribe Real Cancun or the Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen, guests will receive a complimentary dolphin swim experience for one person, valued at $140. Additional family members receive a 50% discount off regular dolphin swim prices.
