Soft opening at Carlton-Savannah in Trinidad

By Gay Nagle Myers

The Carlton-Savannah, Trinidad's newest luxury hotel, has opened 15 of its 165 one- and two-bedroom units, with more coming on each week. Formal opening is set for July.

The hotel originally had planned to open a year ago, but construction and financial delays pushed the date back, according to a hotel spokesperson.

The boutique business property overlooks the green space of Queen's Park Savannah in Cascade, the central business district in the capital city of Port of Spain.

Reservation books are open, with rates from $210 per room, per night, double.

The Carlton-Savannah is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Amenities include a spa, a pool, a gym, three bars, two restaurants and several meetings rooms.
