La Samanna, an Orient-Express resort in St. Martin, completed the first phase of two property updates.
Fifty of the property's 83 guestrooms, suites and cottages feature new furniture, bathrooms, kitchenettes and floors, all done in traditional white with Mediterranean accents.
Each room carries original artwork by local artists, including etchings and oil paintings by Roland Richardson, the resort's resident artist.
The second phase of the $8 million project will be completed by the end of the year.
