The former Grand Hotel Florence has reopened as the first St. Regis hotel in the Italian city after a 10-month renovation.
The property was built in 1432 and designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, who also designed the Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore.
The 81-room hotel, which overlooks the Arno River, has 19 suites, including three spa suites that feature mosaics and Jacuzzi tubs.
Ten new or restored St. Regis hotels will open during the next six months, said Starwood Hotels & Resorts, owner of the St. Regis brand.
The Florence property is the second St. Regis hotel in Italy; the other is in Rome.
