Egencia agrees to buy largest Scandinavian corporate agency

|

Egencia, Expedia's corporate travel agency, said it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire VIA Travel.

Egencia said VIA is the largest travel management company in the Nordics.

"Corporate travel is a growing part of Expedia Inc.'s overall business," stated Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Expedia Inc.

Founded in 1991, VIA Travel has offices in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. In addition to core corporate travel services, the company offers services for corporate groups and meetings, leisure travel and marine transport. The company will continue to operate as they do today, Egencia said.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and the closing of the transaction is subject to approval from relevant authorities.
