Canadian packager goes under

By Michelle Baran

Go Travel South, a vacation packager based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, ceased operations this week.

In a statement on its website, Go Travel South said it had ceased operations "due to economic circumstances."

The vacation packager advised customers "not to show up to the airport for your flights as they will not be departing." In order to obtain refunds, Go Travel South told customers to contact their credit card providers.

To receive a full refund, customers will need an itinerary or e-ticket, which can be obtained by emailing Go Travel South at customerrelations@gotravelsouth.com.

Flair Air, Go Travel South’s air charter supplier "will not be able to assist with getting any refunds," the company said.

Go Travel South specialized in packages to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

The company had some 2,000 passengers with existing reservations, the Canadian news media reported.
