ST. PAUL, Minn. — Globus Family of Brands' products are now being sold through Delta Vacations and Continental Airlines Vacations.
The new distribution deal was announced to agents attending MLT University, the operator’s annual agent education event.
Effective immediately, all four Globus brands — Globus, Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon — will be sold through the Delta and Continental vacation brands.
"We had a desire to expand both the destinations that we’re offering … and at the same time we wanted to branch out and offer escorted tours," said Ken Pomerantz, president and chief marketing officer of MLT Vacations.
Pomerantz said Globus resonated because of its brand recognition in escorted tours.
By selling Globus products, MLT adds South America, Africa and the Middle East to its destination mix.
The advantage for consumers is the ability to combine Globus product with MLT’s air rates for Delta and Continental, said Pomerantz. Additionally, customers who book Globus through MLT will get bonus miles for the tours in addition to their flight miles.
"All the sales that the agent produces goes toward their revenue goals at MLT," said Pomerantz, adding that MLT will also pay its regular commission rate on the Globus bookings.
Steve Born, vice president of marketing for the Globus brands, called Delta Vacations and Continental Vacations a "perfect fit."
"It’s a great partnership in that it’s a union of strong brands and a true win-win — it expands their portfolio for their customers while helping expand our brand distribution," Born said.
"From time to time, we do enter into partnerships similar to this, although this is our first airline vacation partnership. Our goal in partnering was primarily to expand distribution, and secondarily to reinforce our brands with an incremental traveler market."
