Travcoa launches independent travel packages

By Michelle Baran

Luxury small-group operator Travcoa has launched Independent Journeys, a collection of independent travel packages.

Independent Journeys, a division of Travcoa’s newly formed private travel category, are designed for solo travelers, couples, families and small groups traveling together.

The itineraries include locally guided sightseeing, accommodations, private car transportation and transfers, some meals and Travcoa’s medical and travel assistance plan.

The 17 Independent Journeys include Easter Island; the Galapagos; the Peruvian Amazon; Machu Picchu; two itineraries in Egypt; Syria; Tanzania; two in India; Myanmar; Nepal and Bhutan; Bali and Borobudur; Thailand, Cambodia and Laos; Vietnam; Australia; and New Zealand.

For example, a seven-day journey through India’s Golden Triangle includes stops in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra; visits to Taj Mahal and Hawa Mahal; and accommodations at Taj and Oberoi hotels. The package starts at $2,775 per person, not including air.

"Travelers frequently look at our Escorted Journeys and want to take one, but at a different time or just with their own family," Travcoa President Jerre Fuqua said in a statement. "Independent Journeys let those travelers do that."

Travcoa’s private travel category also includes the bespoke Tailor-Made Journeys.
