Nexion sold to Tzell Travel

Sabre Holdings on Tuesday sold its Nexion host agency business to Tzell Travel, a division of Travel Leaders Group. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Nexion will operate under the Tzell Travel umbrella, with Nexion President Jackie Friedman reporting directly to Tzell CEO Barry Liben.

"As the industry’s virtual agency leader, Nexion fits perfectly within our long-term vision and overarching strategy of remaining one of the travel industry’s leading and most respected companies," Liben said.

Sabre had owned Nexion since October 2003.

"We look forward to continuing the growth we achieved under Sabre’s leadership and are confident that with Tzell’s keen focus on the agency community and their respected travel expertise, Nexion can grow even further," Friedman said.

Sabre and Tzell recently signed a long-term agreement; Nexion will join Tzell in upgrading to the new Sabre Red desktop.
