Amadeus reported a 7.5% increase in full-year revenues for 2012, to 2.91 billion euros ($3.8 billion), even though bookings increased only 2.9%.

Both its distribution and IT solutions business grew. Its distribution revenue increased by 5.8%, to 2.2 billion euros ($2.87 billion), and the number of travel agency air bookings grew 3.5%, to 416.5 million. It said that it expanded its global market share of air travel agency bookings by .9%, reaching 38.4% market share.

Its IT solutions business revenue increased 13% -- faster than its more mature GDS unit -- to 709 million euros ($926 million). The number of airline passengers that booked through its Altea system grew 28.4 % year over year, to 563.8 million people.

Amadeus President and CEO Luis Maroto said that the company is "selectively investing in growth areas such as IT solutions for airports, hotels and rail providers."

Amadeus said that 53 airlines have gained on for its Ancillary Services solution, with 24 opting to implement this service in both direct and indirect channels.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased 6.6%, to 1.1 billion euros ($1.4 billion), while adjusted profit grew 18%, to 575 million euros ($751 million).
