Report: Air France jet stuck on tarmac for 10 hours

March 18, 2008

An Air France plane headed for Miami sat on the tarmac for almost 10 hours at Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport, according to published reports. The plane arrived in Miami at 12:39 a.m. on Tuesday.

Air France Flight 90, scheduled to leave at 10:45 a.m. yesterday, didn't take off until 8:34 p.m. because of a fuel leak and resulting engine trouble, according to Air France.

Passengers weren't allowed to leave the plane because safety procedures involved in deplaning would have taken too much time, said Air France. Passengers were fed and promised compensation, the airline added.
