Travel Insured International, the travel
insurer based in East Hartford, Conn., signed Arch Insurance Co., a
division of Arch Insurance Group, as its new underwriter for the
Worldwide Trip Protector and Worldwide Trip Protector Gold
products. Arch Insurance replaces Fairmont Specialty Group.
According to Judy
Sutton, director of product development, one reason for the switch,
is that the new underwriter has an A.M. Best rating of A- whereas
Fairmont is at B+. Travel Insured said it believes the switch will
open up marketing opportunities. Sutton explained that often
clients, such as universities or tour operators, require the A
rating from A.M. Best.
